What to do on a first sighting
You see a strange large insect in your garden. What do you actually do?
On a first sighting, calmness is the most important response. Do not remove any nest yourself — not even a small one that looks harmless. If possible, take a photo from a safe distance (use zoom), note the location, and send it to a specialist or an official reporting channel. Avoid spray, fire and smoke — they only make the situation more aggressive and dangerous. Close nearby windows and doors and keep children and pets inside until you have clarity.
