Working with the fire brigade: a hornet nest high in the treetop
An Asian hornet nest high in a tree in a residential street. Too high for a ladder or telescopic lance — so we went up together with the fire brigade.

Some nests simply hang too high. This Asian hornet nest sat right at the top of a tree in a residential street, well beyond the reach of a ladder or our carbon telescopic lance.
So we teamed up with the fire brigade. Their aerial platform took us, in full protective suits and with the suction unit in the basket, right up to the nest.
From the basket, the hornets were carefully vacuumed out of the nest, after which the nest itself was cut loose and secured in a closed container. Everything was then taken away.
As always: no pesticides or poison, just the right equipment and a calm, step-by-step approach.
Many thanks to the fire brigade for the excellent teamwork. 🚒🐝
